Subtracting Unlike Fractions

Let's understand in today's post about subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.

Subtracting unlike fractions involve the below steps:

Step 1) Find the LCM of the denominators.
Step 2) Take a common denominator.
Step 3) Subtract the numerators and get the result.

As for example: 3/5 - 2/4
= [(3x4) - (2x5) ]/20
= (12-10)/20
= 2/20
= 1/10

In my next post i will help you to workout examples on multiply fractions. Till then enjoy practicing subtracting unlike fractions.

Math Question and Answer

This is a grade 8 math student, really very clever in math. Earlier she wasn’t that good in math and suddenly one day i see her solving algebra problems so fast that i couldn’t believe.
That was an amazing moment for me. I remember my sister struggling hard to teach her math and had difficulties in multiples of 6,I wanted to know how did this miracle happen, so sat with her for a while and was watching her doing her problems.
She even said that she had solved old maths exam papers many times just for practice problem sums. Hat’s off to these tutors……Math Home Work

Introduction on lateral surface area do cone:
A cone is a 3-dimensional geometric shape that tapers smoothly from a flat, usually circular base to a point called the apex or vertex. It is the solid bounded by a plane base and the surface (called the lateral surface) formed by the locus of all straight line segments joining the apex to the perimeter of the base.

Lateral Surface Area of the Cone and Example Problems:

cone
Surface area of cone is found by adding lateral surface area of the cone and area of base.
Here lateral surface area of cone is area of cone & Geometry proofs worksheets.
Surface area of cone (A) is equal to lateral surface area of cone + area of base
= π r s + π r2
Lateral surface area (L.S.A) = π r s square unit.

Funny Math Numbers

Introduction to algebraic expressions worksheets:
Algebra is a branch of the mathematics is use to construct the mathematical model of the real-world situations and to handle a problems that we do not solve the problems using the simple arithmetic. Using words, algebra uses a symbol to make statements.
Algebra is includes real numbers, complex numbers, linear equations, vectors etc. In algebra, we are often using the letters for represents the numbers in mathematics. Algebra is using the symbols as the arithmetic operations for adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying. In this article we shall discuss about pre algebra worksheets.

Sample Problem for Pre Algebra Worksheets:

Pre algebra worksheet problem:
Example:
The average of a list of 20 numbers is 80. If we are reducing one numbers, the average of the remaining numbers is 108. What is the number that was removed?
Solution:
Step 1: The removed number to be obtained by the difference between the sum of original 20 numbers and the sum of remaining 18 numbers i.e algebra expressions .
Sum of original 20 numbers – sum of remaining 18 numbers
Step 2: Using the formula
Sum of Terms=Average*number of Terms
Sum of original 20 numbers = 80 × 20 = 1600
sum of remaining 18 numbers = 108× 18 = 1944

Step 3: Using the formula from step 1 we get
Removed Number = sum of the original 20 numbers – sum of remaining 18 numbers
1600 – 1944 = -344 Need help with algebra-1-help’s posterous

Set theory Problems : Set theory is the branch of mathematics that learned about the sets, which are the collections of objects. Even though any type of objects can be added into a set, set theory is applied most often to objects that are related to mathematics. Here we will see the practice problems and examples of set theory.

Examples

1)Proof the A∪(B∩C)=(A∪B) ∩(A∪C) condition for the following sets.
A={2,3,6,7,8} B={1,2,5,7,8} C={1,3,7,8,10}
Solution
The given sets are A={2,3,6,7,8} B={1,2,5,7,8} C={1,3,7,8,10}
A∪(B∩C)=(A∪B) ∩(A∪C)
First solve the left side condition.
A∪(B∩C)
B∩C
It means common values of the sets B and C.
B∩C={1,7,8}
A∪(B∩C)
Now joining the A set values and set theory symbols.
A∪(B∩C)={ 1,2,3,6,7,8}
Solve right side condition.
(A∪B) ∩(A∪C)
A∪B={1,2,3,5,6,7,8}
A∪C={1,2,3,6,7,8,10}
(A∪B) ∩(A∪C)={1,2,3,6,7,8}
So A∪(B∩C)=(A∪B) ∩(A∪C).

Basic Terms and Definitions

Recall that a part (or portion) of a line with two end points is called a line-segment
and a part of a line with one end point is called a ray. Need geometry homework help free. Note that the line segment AB is denoted by AB , and its length is denoted by AB. The ray AB is denoted by AB, and a line is denoted by AB.

However, we will not use these symbols, and will denote the line segment AB, ray AB, length AB and line AB by the same symbol, AB. The meaning will be clear from the context. Sometimes statistics problems online small letters l, m, n, etc. will be used to denote lines.

If three or more points lie on the same line, they are called collinear points;
otherwise they are called non-collinear points. Recall that an angle is formed when two rays originate from the same end point. The rays making an angle are called the arms of the angle and the end point is called the vertex of the angle. free statistics answers You have studied different types of angles, such as acute angle, right angle, obtuse angle, straight angle and reflex angle in earlier classes

Explain derivative of sin

Introduction:
                              In calculus, the derivative is a measure of how a function changes as its input changes. The process of finding a derivative is called differentiation. Differentiation is a method to compute the rate at which a dependent output y changes with respect to the change in the independent input x. The derivative of y with respect to x is given by `(dy)/(dx)` .
                       Here, we are going to learn derivative of sin 3x and its related functions from the following example and practice problems.

Example Problem on Derivative of Sin 3x:

Example 1:
Find the derivative of y = sin 3x.
Solution:
      Step 1: Given function
                                y = sin 3x
      Step 2: Differentiate the given function y = sin 3x with respect to ' x '
                                `(dy)/(dx)` = cos 3x (3)
                                             = 3 cos 3x

Explain Circle Properties

Introduction:
              In geometry, the circle is the set of all points on a plane of fixed gap from a center. Then the circle is an significant shape in the geometry. The diameter of the circle is span of line segment in the finishing point on the circle that point passes via the center of the circle. The width of a circle is twice its radius. Now we will discuss about circle properties.

Properties of the Circle:

  • In geometry, the circles includes the equivalent radii are congruent triangles. In the circle properties, similar circles which contain same radii are same. Arcs of the identical circle are relative to their parallel angles. The circle includes the lot of properties. These are, The circle contains the shape with the large area for given span of perimeter. The circle has a highly symmetric form. In circle, each line via center forms a line of reflection symmetry and it has rotational symmetry around for the each angle. In analytical geometry, all circles are equivalent. A circle’s limits and radius are comparative. The area with this and the four-sided figure of its radius are also relative. The circle which is centered at the origin with the radius 1 is known as the unit circle in the circle properties. In the circle properties, a great circle of the unit sphere. The great circle develops into the Riemannian circle. In circle, through any three points, not all on the identical line, these lies unique circle. In properties of the circle, the center of the circle ant that radius will giving the three points.

Permutations and combinations

Introduction:

              Arrangement and selection of objects are the central ideas of this chapter on permutations and combinations. They are widely applied in solving problems of probability and using probability formula, genetic engineering and life sciences.

Permutations and combinations worksheet:

            The permutations and combinations take place on dissimilar kinds of things. The permutation of a different thing is the number of different techniques they can be ordered (which is first, second, third, etc). If you want to select several things from a larger number of things, the technique you place the selected things is also important. When approaches to combination, on the other hand, one does not believe the order in which things were elected or located, just which things were selected.

Types of Permutations Worksheet:

       Permutations with Repetition for worksheet:
            When we have n unrelated things then we have n selections every time. And if we are in a location to select thing r from n things, the permutations are
                 n * n * n…..(r times) = nr
                 P (n, r) = nr

Example on Solving Geometry Circles Problem

Introduction:

The relationship between the centre and chords in a circle. The locus of a point moves such that its distance from a fixed points always a constant, is called a circle. The fixed point is called its centre and the constant distance is called its radius. The perimeter or boundary of a circle is called its circumference. A line segment whose end points lie on the circumference of a circle is called a chord. A chord from the centre of a circle is called its diameter. A diameter is the longest chord of a circle. All above those concepts is used to solving all types geometry problems.

Example:

2. Find the area of the circle which the radius is 5?(PI=3.14)
Solution: Area of the circle= PI R2
=3.14 * 5*5.
=78.5cm2

2.Find the perimeter of the circle, which Diameter is 8cm?
Solution Diameter = 2 × radius
Radius =Dia/2
=8/2=>4cm
Perimeter of the circle=2*PI*Radius
=2*3.14*4
=25.12 cm2

Hope you liked the above explanation. Please leave your comments, if you have any doubts.

Different types of Matrices

Introduction:

                   A rectangular array of entries is called a Matrix. The entries may be real, complex or functions. The entries are also called as the elements of the matrix. The rectangular array of entries are enclosed in an ordinary bracket or in square bracket.

Types of Matrices:

Row Matrix:

A matrix having only one row is called a row-matrix.
For example: A[1 3 2 -2] is a row matrix of order 1 x 4.

Column Matrix:

A matrix having only one column is called a column matrix.

Square Matrix:

A matrix in which the number of rows is equal to the number of columns, say n, is called a square matrix of order n.
In this square matrix of order n the elements a11, a22.......ann is called the principal diagonal or the leading diagonal.
The elements a11, a22,.......ann are called the diagonal elements of the square matrix.

Diagonal Matrix:

A square matrix A=[aij]nxn is called a diagonal matrix if all the elements, except those in the leading diagonal, are zero.
i.e., aij = 0 for all i j

Scalar Matrix:

A scalar matrix is a diagonal matrix in which all the diagonal elements are equal.

Identity or Unit Matrix:

A square matrix A=[aij]n x n is called an identity or unit matrix if

(2) aij =1 for all i = j
Null Matrix or Zero Matrix:
A matrix of order m x n whose elements are all 0 is called a null matrix (or zero matrix) of order m x n. It is usually denoted by O or more clearly [O]m,n.

Hope you liked the above explanation. Please leave your comments, if you have any doubts.
