Subtracting Unlike Fractions

Let's understand in today's post about subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.

Subtracting unlike fractions involve the below steps:

Step 1) Find the LCM of the denominators.
Step 2) Take a common denominator.
Step 3) Subtract the numerators and get the result.

As for example: 3/5 - 2/4
= [(3x4) - (2x5) ]/20
= (12-10)/20
= 2/20
= 1/10

In my next post i will help you to workout examples on multiply fractions. Till then enjoy practicing subtracting unlike fractions.

One can also avail to online tutoring for more help. There are many classes like calculus tutoring, geometry tutoring and so on.
